I had a strange and wonderful dream.
I was standing with my daughter in my walk in closet. We had just put on our swimsuits and we were looking at ourselves in the full length mirror.
We were not frowning at our reflections in the mirror.
We weren’t talking about how flabby we were, or how ugly we looked.
We did not mention our weight at all.
In fact, we actually grinning at ourselves.
I was admiring my fifty year old shape.
I commented on how strong I looked. I was confident.
When I woke up, I had a lingering smile on lips.
This dream was a reminder: to treat myself with all the dignity, respect, and love that I deserve.
Even from my self.
