People Pleasers

We are all recovering people pleasers~ Lori

The truth in that statement is profound.

Women, especially, are taught to please, to make nice, to get along, to keep the peace. But at what cost?

We are told to take the high road, to turn the other cheek,

but what about the person who continually dominates, pushing their will on you, and refuses to yield one inch?

Growing in wisdom means learning the difference between yielding and caving.

It means you will take the high road as long as you aren’t kicked to the curb in the process.

It means you will compromise but you won’t deny your need to be respected.

That’s the truth in this statement.
